The ELECTRA, the Pearson twenty-two foot Midget Ocean Racing Class Sailboat, that sleeps two or four people, is a masthead rigged sloop, designed by Carl A. Alberg. The hull and keel are integrally molded as a single unit of fiberglass reinforced polyester resin. The deck, cabin, trunk, cockpit, and toe-rail are also integrally molded as a single unit of fiber-glass reinforced polyester resin. In final assembly, the deck and hull are bonded together with polyester resin. Spars are extruded, corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy. Standing rigging is stainless steel, running rigging is decron line. Optional items of gear are available. Hull colors are white, black, light blue, dark metallic blue, light gray, dark metallic green and red.

Hull Construction
Following the application of the gel coat color(s), the hull is molded in two stages. While still in the mold, the three bulkheads and knees are installed. After being removed from teh mold, the 100lb molded lead ballast is installed inside the molded keel. the remaining wood parts are installed with the exception of finished mahogany trim, the oak support members that reinforce the main forwarded bulkhead, and the cockpit floor support.
